Whether you're dealing with dryness, redness, or other skin concerns, these foundations are sure to help you achieve a flawless, radiant look.
When it comes to finding the right foundation for post-treatment or anti-aging skincare, it's important to choose formulas that are gentle, non-irritating, and designed to work with your specific skin type and concerns. Here are five foundations that are great for post-treatment or anti-aging skincare:
Chantecaille Future Skin is a gel-based foundation that provides buildable coverage, ranging from sheer to medium. Its lightweight formula makes it perfect for post-treatment or anti-aging skincare, as it does not clog pores or feel heavy on the skin. The foundation is also oil-free, making it suitable for all skin types, including oily and acne-prone skin. It helps to restore moisture, soothe irritation, and provide buildable coverage without further aggravating the skin.
Victoria Tested (uses retinoids regularly, and peeling treatments): It's really nice when you put it on, that gel like consistency is so soothing when your skin is so irritated. However, it doesn't last on the skin, and would need a reapplication. But I don't mind re-applying this actually because I feel like I need the extra moisture. It feels like a big glass of water for my face!
Skin treatments can leave the skin feeling sensitive and dry, and Rose Inc Tinted Serum helps to alleviate these symptoms while also providing a sheer, natural-looking coverage. The foundation contains hyaluronic acid, which is a powerful hydrator that can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water. This ingredient helps to plump the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles that may have been caused by the ablative skin treatment. It also contains squalane, which is a lightweight, non-comedogenic oil that helps to moisturize the skin without clogging pores.
Fleur Tested (introducing Tretinoin into her skincare routine): I was definitely nice and juicy through out the day, but the light coverage didn't have the staying power to cover any redness or obviously peeling areas. Didn't sting my face and was super gentle.
Sisley Sisleÿa Le Teint is a lightweight, fluid foundation that provides buildable coverage, ranging from sheer to medium. One unique feature of Sisley Sisleÿa Le Teint is that it contains a patented anti-aging complex, which includes Persian acacia extract, Lindera extract, and Yeast and Soy protein complex. This complex helps to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, while also providing hydration and firming benefits to the skin. It helps to soothe and repair the skin while also providing long-lasting coverage.
Fleur Tested (introducing Tretinoin into her skincare routine): This one is probably my favourite foundation to wear on a rough skin day. It just nourishes my skin, and the coverage is great towards the end of the day. I've found any peeling is much less pronounced, and no stinging. Minus points for lack of shade diversity however.
IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream is a full-coverage color correcting cream that's infused with skin-loving ingredients, including collagen, hyaluronic acid, and antioxidants. It's also formulated with SPF 50+ sunscreen to protect the skin from further damage. This foundation can help hydrate and improve the appearance of peeling skin. This foundation contains collagen, peptides, and hyaluronic acid to help smooth and hydrate the skin, as well as antioxidants to help protect against environmental damage. It's also free of parabens, sulfates, and phthalates, making it gentle on sensitive skin.
Victoria Tested (uses retinoids regularly, and peeling treatments): I love it because of the sunscreen and it feels really thick. The coverage does really well for the redness. I do find it a bit drying so you can see the flakiness, but I put up with it for the coverage. A little bit of a sting when applied (must be the sunscreen?) but I persevere for the spf protection.
Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Care & Glow Foundation offers long-lasting wear, moisturizing properties, buildable coverage, and skin-nourishing benefits. After a skin treatment, your skin may feel dry and dehydrated. The Teint Idole Ultra Wear Care & Glow formula contains moisturizing ingredients like hyaluronic acid and glycerin to help keep your skin hydrated and comfortable. You may have areas of uneven skin texture or discoloration that you want to cover up and with its buildable coverage, you can layer it to achieve the desired coverage without it looking cakey or heavy. Its skincare ingredients like vitamin E and moringa extract can help improve the overall appearance and health of your skin.
Fleur Tested (introducing Tretinoin into her skincare routine): I wanted to be wowed, but I just wasn't. I feel like on a good skin day, this does everything it says it does and everything you hope it would. But when I'm dehydrated and peeling, I just didn't feel fantastic in it by lunch time. I'd skip this one on a rough day and save it for less peel-y days.
Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick is a great product to cover up bruising after botox because it provides full coverage without feeling heavy on the skin. After receiving botox injections, some people may experience bruising or discoloration around the injection site, and this foundation stick can help to effectively conceal those areas. The foundation stick contains a blend of nourishing ingredients such as coconut oil, camellia oil, and vegetable-derived squalane, which help to moisturize and protect the skin. It also contains antioxidants such as berry flux vita, which help to protect the skin from environmental stressors that can cause further damage. It's formulated without potentially harmful ingredients such as parabens, phthalates, and synthetic fragrances, and when your skin is recovering from any kind of treatment, natural formulas are always the best option.
Fleur & Victoria: Both LOVE this foundation stick, not just for coverage for bruising or redness, but just as their daily foundation option. It's dewy, easy to blend, and feels beautiful and lightweight on the skin. Victoria actually just finished hers, and she'll be putting another one in the cart anytime now. The heavy, luxe packaging is fabulous, it's a product worth treating yourself to.
