Name: Ash
Age: 29
Skin Type: Combination
Skin Concerns: Hydration, Texture, Congestion
Shade: Lift
Have you bought this foundation before, why/why not? No I haven’t, I don’t wear alot of foundation and am pretty committed to the sheer tints that I wear day-to-day.
Were you happy with the foundation after initial application? I was wowed by the coverage, my skin looked very smooth and even. What I loved most about it was the smell - it has such a lovely fresh scent to it.
What did you think about your shade match/the shades in the range? This was a perfect shade match for my summer skin. A little tan for my winter skin at the moment but not noticeable to anyone other than myself.
How did the foundation hold up at the end of the day? I found this foundation to be very longwearing! I was a little shiny which is standard for me after 8+ hours of wear. It had worn off around my nose but I touched my nose a lot so this is expected.
Would you wear this again, why/why not? Yes I would love to try this foundation again, particularly if i’m having my photo taken or a special occasion.
Name: Simone
Age: 29
Skin Type: Combination
Skin Concerns: Oily T zone- certain products can make me look like an oil slick.
Shade: Naked
Have you bought this foundation before, why/why not? I haven’t. It's rare I wear foundations these days. I usually wear concealer under my eyes and spot conceal any areas of concern.
Were you happy with the foundation after initial application? I was happy with the colour and coverage it gave and it didn’t feel thick or heavy on the skin.
What did you think about your shade match/the shades in the range? I liked the colour match- at first I thought it may be too cool for me but it actually turned out so well! I have a neutral undertone so I can usually make products work for me if they lean a little cooler or warmer.
How did the foundation hold up at the end of the day? I think it settled into my skin nicely throughout the day and the whole office thought my skin looked great. Personally, I would want to powder or do a matte spray if I were going to head out after work for dinner but I'm headed to the gym so I will put it to the test there. All in all I really enjoyed the product.
Would you wear this again, why/why not? I would definitely wear this again. It feels so nice on my skin and it doesn't feel heavy at all, for someone who doesn't wear foundation everyday that is such a good feeling.
Name: Rachel
Age: 41
Skin Type: Combination (very oily t-zone)
Skin Concerns: Oily t-zone and light rosacea
Shade: Naked
Have you bought this foundation before, why/why not? No, but I have bought their mineral powder multiple times. Everyone in the office is sick of hearing me go on about how much I love it.
Were you happy with the foundation after initial application? I was really pleased with it. It gives enough coverage without feeling heavy on your skin and it blends really well.
What did you think about your shade match/the shades in the range? The shade match was perfect - not too yellow and just light enough for my skin.
How did the foundation hold up at the end of the day? By the end of the day, it had settled into my skin nicely. It was looking more dewy than at lunch time, but not in an oil slick kind of way which is surprising because I skipped my primer this morning.
Would you wear this again, why/why not? I would definitely wear Fitcover’s Sweat-Ready Mineral Infused Liquid Foundation again. It was a good shade match, easy to apply and long wearing without being overly matte.
Name: Fleur
Age: 34
Skin Type: Combination/Normal
Skin Concerns: Hormonal acne (retanoid use controls oil but skin can flake), fine lines
Shade: Activate
Have you bought this foundation before, why/why not? I’ve never tried this foundation before I took it home to start using before my filmed wear test. I’ve heard of it, and I’ve seen it on instagram. As I get older I’ve been thinking about making the switch to mineral makeup, so I was really looking forward to giving Fitcover a go.
Were you happy with the foundation after initial application? I used one pump on my brush, dotted it around my face, and when I tell you it seemed to stretch across my whole face while maintaining medium coverage, I am not lying. How did so little go so far and still look so good? I loved applying it, and I adore the natural satin finish on my skin. I used the elf Hydrating Concealer, and a dust of Wetnwild translucent powder in my t zone, and all my other products melded with it seamlessly.
What did you think about your shade match/the shades in the range? Being neutral, I always feel like I have flexi skin and can make a lot of shades work. I planned to fake tan this week (just because it’s winter and I want a little pick me up!) and Activate matches seamlessly with my tan.
How did the foundation hold up at the end of the day? I’m happy! I’m a little shiny but it’s not anything I’m overly concerned about, it’s like the foundation has blended with my natural oils and they’re just chilling, giving me a little glow. It's also not until I saw my before & after shots did I realize the foundation had oxidized (you can see I've turned a bit orange at the end of the day). I do use retinol and vitamin c, so it may have something to do with that, or it could just be my skins personal interaction with the formula. In person it wasn't as obvious as the stills so I wouldn't say it's a deal breaker for me. You can play with your skin prep to see if you're able to mitigate the process of oxidation.
Would you wear this again, why/why not? 100%. I get to wear a foundation that makes my skin look good, the product goes a long way, it gentle on the planet, and it’s actually good for my skin.
Name: Victoria
Age: 41
Skin Type: Combination (acne prone and dry from Retinol use)
Skin Concerns: hormonal acne, dry and sensitive - due to retinol use
Shade: Lift
Have you bought this foundation before, why/why not? No, I’ve not used this brand before as I stopped using mineral makeup all together after I got my acne under control. I found mineral makeup always seemed to give off an ashy/gray cast if there was too much zinc oxide so I could never find a great match to my skin.
Were you happy with the foundation after initial application? Yes. I liked the texture as it was not as thick and sticky as I remember liquid mineral makeup to be. It glided on nicely with medium coverage and worked well with no sting on my sensitive, dry and irritated skin.
What did you think about your shade match/the shades in the range? I was quite impressed with the colour and match. I was expecting the usual ashy colour I remember from mineral makeup 10 years ago however this time, I received a much better shade match that was warmer in undertone.
How did the foundation hold up at the end of the day? It was a little dry and seemed to have exacerbated my flaky skin (due to retinol use). After seeing my before/after photos, I can see that it has oxidised slightly- however, it was not that obvious throughout the day.
Would you wear this again, why/why not? I would definitely want to try this again on my skin when it is not reacting from retinol. The fact that it has managed to eradicate the ashy colour, be good for the skin as well as being gym-friendly, I am converted.
